About Trish

Trish is an experienced Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years experience of running her own private practice in the Gold Coast community as well as 15 years running Relationship Institute Australasia. She was the first person in Australia to become a Certified Gottman Therapist and Advanced Clinical Trainer and Consultant for the Gottman Institute. She has completed all levels of training and mentoring available through the Gottman Institute in Seattle, USA and is certified to facilitate all levels of Gottman clinical trainings as well as the Art and Science of Love Couple Workshop, and is available to mentor practitioners wishing to become presenters and trainers themselves.

 

As an Advanced Clinical Trainer and Consultant for the Gottman Institute, Trish, together with John Flanagan, has facilitated over 100 accredited Gottman Relationship Therapy workshops to psychotherapy professionals in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and North America. Trish also holds a Graduate Certificate in Adult Education and has developed and delivered a number of psychologically based professional development trainings for professionals and organisations.

 

Trish has extensive experience in working with couples with co-morbid presentations including trauma, mood disorders, neuro-diversity, personality concerns, betrayal, and addiction.

 

As an author of both fiction and non-fiction books, Trish has the following publications:

 

Trish frequently receives requests for media interviews as well as invitations to speak to community organisations, make comment on radio, TV and podcast episodes.  She was invited to deliver the closing keynote address at the Australian Psychology Society Festival of Psychology Conference in 2025.  Here is a selection of her interviews:
